My sense is that probably none of these conditions would apply and that the ability wouldn't help toward the goal, but I'm looking for reassurance or additional interpretations. If the monster I recruit dies in a later round, or kills another monster in a later round, would it count? Or does the fact that I didn't play the card in that round prevent that from happening? The reward for each scenario is an item that is particularly beneficial for the class used in the scenario. The goal of the game, other than to beat the scenarios and advance the overall campaign, is to get your character to finish their personal quest, thus retiring them and unlocking new characters for you to play next. All other classes are gradually unlocked throughout the game, as players complete their ‘personal quests’. Choose your group members wisely, because in the turmoil of battle you can only rely on your wits, skills and spells to fight your way through the putrid dungeons and forgotten ruins. Characters can earn money, experience, battle goals, and personal quest progression as normal, but it is recommended that players focus solely on doing what they can to win. Gloomhaven is a legacy style, dungeon crawler board game that will have you controlling a fantasy character throughout their career. This is where Gloomhaven’s class system gets interesting. 'In Gloomhaven, you play as a team of mercenaries on their own personal quests to go conquer a world of gloomy and wicked decadence. Thankfully, the variety in the quests is adequate, and there’s an additional mechanic thrown in that will keep you on your toes each hero has a personal goal to achieve, and when they do that, they ride off into the subset, never to put their necks on the line again.
